Microbioreactors are instruments that allow to cultivate microvolumes of different cell cultures at the same time and in the conditions of fluid flow. Microbioreactors include the set of microchambers and system of fluid circulation to create conditions for coexistance of different cell types.
This technology permit the study of human physiology in an organ-specific context, enable development of novel in vitro disease models, and could potentially serve as replacements for animals used in drug development and toxin testing [1].
